Committee floated for safeguard of indigenes

Imphal, June 11 2023:
With representa-tives of Ahallup, Kairang, Laipham Khunou and Lairikyengbam Leikai lo-calities a non-government and non-political voluntary organisation named 'Joint Action Coordination Corn-mittee' has been formed on Friday with the objective to enhance coordination of lo-cal clubs, meira paibi groups and civil society organisa-dons of Manipur to fight for safeguarding the indigenous people of the state.
In a release, Committee coordinator Wakambam Naobi informed that Ch Hemchand has been elected as chairman and Ngaseppam Baby Devi, P Neroka Devi and Th Ramanada as vice persons among others.
The objective to the com-mittee is to prevent ongoing attack on innocent people and their properties by illegal armed Chin-Ku-ki immigrants, stop nar-co- terrorism and plantation of poppy, protect integrity of Manipur from separat-ist groups, protect vacant and abandoned buildings and properties of displaced people, carry out relief, rehabilitation and reset-tlement works and initiate seminars, conferences, etc., for restoration of peace and normalcy in the state.
