JCY provides shelter to displaced people

Imphal, June 11 2023:
In response to the ongoing violence in the State, the Joint Committee Yaiskul (JCY) has taken a decisive action by establishing relief camps at Shyamasakhi High School and Brajalal Institute of Science in Moirangkhom.
As of today, these camps have provided refuge to a total of 48 individuals directly affected by the unrest.
Among the residents seeking shelter, the majority hail from the areas of Serou, Torbung, Itham, Nongdam, Kumbi, and Churachandpur.
Within the camps, special attention is being given to the vulnerable members of the community.
The statistics reveal that there are 16 children, 6 senior citizens, and a pregnant woman currently residing within the premises.
Efforts are underway to ensure their well-being and provide them with necessary care and support.
Meanwhile, in a heartfelt gesture, the Shri Shri Govindajee Temple Board organised a humble lunch for the individuals staying at the relief camps on June 11, 2023 .
Representing the Temple Board, Th Joychandra Sharma expressed their deep sympathy for the affected individuals and offered prayers for their healing and restoration of peace in the region.
The Temple Board's compassionate act aimed to provide solace and respite to those experiencing hardship during these trying times.
Speaking on behalf of JCY, Chandam Surjit Singh extended sincere gratitude to the Temple Board for their generous gesture.
He acknowledged the significance of the opportunity given to the residents of the camps to visit and pray at the renowned Shri Shri Govindajee Temple, which holds immense spiritual value for the local community.
