Many continue to extend relief items to those who have been displaced by the recent outburst of communal conflicts in the State.
Wangoi Assembly Constituency MLA, Kh Loken today provided relief items to the people taking shelter at the shelter camp opened in Samurou Government High School.
Speaking to media persons, Kh Loken expressed his disappointment over the lack of effort by the Central Government to end the violence in Manipur which has led to the irreparable loss of many precious lives and properties.
He shared that the MLAs of valley area have resolved to come together and visit Delhi to urge the Prime Minister, Home Minister and other Central leaders to bring an end to the violence in Manipur at the earliest.
In regards to the news circulated in various media platforms about some MLAs not participating in the meeting convened by the Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaking from June 8, Kh Loken opined that may be some MLAs did not attend the meeting as they were engaged in personal work or other activities related to the present unrest.
He continued that there is nothing to question their commitment to the resolution taken by all the MLAs of valley area to work towards restoration of peace & normalcy in Manipur at the earliest.
Extending solidarity to the victims of the present conflict, Kh Loken assured that he would strive to provide all possible assistance to the displaced people till the violence comes to an end and law & order is restored in Manipur.
Moreover, Lamlai AC MLA Kh Ibomcha today distributed essential items to the people rendered homeless by the current violence and taking shelter at various places in Lamlai AC.
Briefing the media, Kh Ibomcha shared that preparations have been made to provide essential items to about 850 people from different villages who were not able to take refuge at relief camps and are currently taking shelter at different places.
He appealed to the public, CSOs, local clubs and organisations to forget their political affiliations and come together to help the people displaced by the present violence and safeguard the integrity of Manipur.
Besides, to help the people affected by the ongoing conflict, Global Manipur Federation Australia has donated a huge amount of relief materials including bed sheets, water bottles, detergent powders, body soaps, toothpastes, sanitary pads, Nestle cerelac baby foods, etc to Macha Leima Relief Service.
In a release, Macha Leima has extended its appreciation to Global Manipur Federation Australia for the goodwill and support.
