Imphal, June 11 2023:
The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has asserted that the double-engine BJP Government at the Centre and the State have failed to douse the flame in Manipur due to their inexperience in administration and solving conflicts.
Today, a team of Manipur Congress donated essential materials to the relief camps set up at Lamlai Mayai Leikai by the Lamlai Block Congress Committee.
Speaking to media persons on the sideline, MPCC working president Md Fajur Rahim demanded immediate intervention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to pave way for peace and normalcy to return in Manipur.
It, however, is unfortunate that the Prime Minister is still not making any comment on the situation in the State which has been volatile since May 3, he added.
Has the Prime Minister forgotten that Manipur is very much a part of this country, the Congress leader asked and questioned whether the affections shown by him (Modi) for Manipur on numerous occasions were all lies.
Md Fajur Rahim said that Congress and some other like minded political parties would go to New Delhi shortly to meet Narendra Modi and highlight the situation in the State.
The conflict could have been solved much earlier and several lives and properties could have been saved had the double-engine BJP Government intervened on time, he added.
