Political delegation leaving for Delhi today

In accordance with the decision taken during a meeting of 10 like-minded political par-ties held at Congress Bhawan, BT Road on Friday, representatives of the parties will start leaving for Delhi on Monday to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
On Sunday afternoon, a meeting of INC, CPI, JD (U), AIFB, RSP, SS (UBT), TMC, NCP and AAP representatives was held at Congress Bhawan wherein a memorandum for submission to the PM was also drafted.
The parties had already submitted an appoint-ment request to the PMO on Saturday but no response has been received.
Nonetheless, an advanced team amongst the delegates of the political parties consisting of Congress MLA Th Lokeshwar and CPI (M) repre-sentative Kshetrimayum Shanta will leave for Delhi on Monday to seek appointment with the PM.
The total number of dele-gates is likely to be around 60-70, who will be leav-ing for Delhi starting from Monday till June 13.Con-gress will be represented by five MLAs along with AICC Working Committee member Gaikhangam, while other political parties are likely to be represented by 5 members each, a source conveyed.
