Little Clinic has given me new life: Riot survivor

Even as scores of people lost their lives in the on-going communal clash in the state, some lucky few survived despite receiving multiple bullet injuries through timely humanitarian and selfless help rendered by certain private clinics run-ning in Imphal.
One such life has been saved by Little Clinic at Naga-ram for which the victim has expressed profound respect and gratitude to the private hospital.
Little Clinic has been providing free treat-ment to those who have been injured in the communal clash between the Meiteis and the Kukis following the 'Solidarity Peace Rally' held in some hill districts on May 3.In the communal violence, many people have lost their lives while many have been injured and disabled for life in addition to properties de-stroyed beyond repair.
The Little Clinic has, as on date, provided free treatment and saved the lives of five people who were seriously injured in the communal clash.
Speaking to The People's Chronicle, Yumlembam Goro (26) of Serou Mamang Leikai, who was injured in a gun attack by Kuki militants on May 5 at Serou and receiving free treatment at Little Clinic, said that in the attack, he got hit on head, back and right calf.
He said that he underwent treatment at Little Clinic during which the doctors and nurses treated him with the best care.
"Operation was conducted immediately after he was rushed to the clinic and the doctors here saved me and gave me a new lease of life," he said and added that all treatment including required tests were done free of cost at the hospital and he did not face any finan-cial issues during his whole treatment process.
It may be mentioned that of the five riot victims treated free of cost at Little Clinic, two have been discharged and another three including Goro are waiting complete recovery.
The other two persons at the clinic, whose conditions are stated to be stable, are Damarmani Bhat-tarai (60) of Kanglatongbi Hathikhuwa and Salam Ramo (25) of Serou Mamang Leikai.
