Aid extended to village defenders and relief centres

In the midst of the prevailing crisis, human compassion continues to shine through with people still extending aid and assistance from all quarters.
Pioneer Club Wangjing Hodamba Maning Leikai has extended relief materials to the village defenders of Heirok Inganglok and Salungpham village today.
Despite being located along the foothills, the villages of Inganglok and Salungpham are relatively peaceful in comparison.
However, village defenders of the area have set up bunkers along the periphery of the villages where they stand guard as a precautionary measure.
The team of volunteers led by secretary Naorem Iboyaima personally visited the villages today and handed over essential food items to the village defenders.

Speaking in this connection, Naorem Iboyaima urged people to be keenly aware of the difficulties faced by people residing in the foothill villages and appealed to them to extend help.
Separately, one Laishram Gunadhor from Heirok Part II Maning Leikai has donated two sacks of rice and calabash (bottle gourd/lauki) to the relief centre set up at Heirok Higher Secondary School today.
Convenor of the relief centre Laishram Jadumani extended his gratitude to Gunadhor for his generous initiative while adding that such helping hands extended during times of need and crisis will further strengthen the ties between the people.
In addition to this, one private citizen by the name of Arambam Milan from Wangjing Lamding also donated numerous vegetable items to the Heirok Higher Secondary School relief centre including pumpkins, luffy, tomatoes etc.
Action committee of seven localities of Thoubal Khekman have also extended financial aid to six relief camps set up across Thoubal district.
The Action Committee donated a total amount of Rs 1,16900 .
The Committee handed over the monetary donations to the relief centres set up at Wangjing Kodompokpi Sports Complex, Landing Higher Secondary School, Khangabok Higher Secondary School, Heirok Higher Secondary School, Athokpam Junior High School, Tekcham High School and Wangjing Hodamba Pioneer Club.
Meanwhile, locals of Yairipok Kekru village have extended financial aid to the tune of Rs 10,000 to the relief committee of JNIMS Hospital as part of their campaign of extending financial as well as material help to various relief camps since the onset of the prevailing crisis.
It is worth noting that Yairipok Kekru village locals have previously extended aid to the relief camps at Moirang Khunou, Thamnapokpi, Phubala and Okshongbung under Bishnupur district and Sagolmang, Pukhao and Yumnam Khunou under Imphal East district.
Similarly, meira paibis of Kairembikhok Mamang Leikai extended relief materials to the village defenders of Salungpham and Heirok Higher Secondary School relief camp today.
