Centre appoints Peace Committee members

Members of the Union government-con-stituted Peace Committee in Manipur with Governor Anusuiya Uikey as chair-person, has been formally named/appointed.
The committee has been formed to help bring peace, social and communal har-mony among the various ethnic groups and promote sense of security.

The deputy secretary further stated that the Committee should facil-itate peace-making pro-cess among various ethnic groups of the state, in-cluding peaceful dialogue and negotiations between conflicting parties/groups.
The Committee should strengthen social cohesive-ness, mutual understanding and facilitate cordial com-munication between various ethnic groups, it stressed.
