Dr Ranjan visits injured at RIMS, JNIMS

Health and Family Welfare minister Dr S Ran-jan Singh on Sunday visited RIMS and JNIMS hospitals to meet those undergoing treat-ment due to injuries suffered in the on-going communal conflict that broke out on May 3.After interacting with the patients and hearing their grievances and re-quirements, Dr Ranjan also held a meeting with the top officials of the two hospi-tals to take up steps so that medical staffers can ensure extra care and non-short-age of medicines and other requirements.
Meanwhile, Relief Com-mittee JNIMS informed that it aided in the treatment of 325 people injured in the riot while seven succumbed to injuries and 21 displaced women delivered babies at JNIMS hospital as on June 10 .
In a release, Relief Com-mittee convenor Kambam Seityajit said the commit-tee has spent Rs 3,56,571 in the treatment of the injured people.
The committee also re-ceived monetary donations from Takhellambam Suraj-kumar of Top Awang Leikai, Thokchom Bijen of Lok - laobung, Kwaksiphai New Youth Club, MLA Rk Imo, Top Awang Leikai Apunba Meira Lup and Sandeep Moirangcha of New Delhi on June 8 and 9 .
