Manipur bag 6 medals as Junior and Sub Junior National Sepaktakraw C'ships conclude

Manipur ended the 24th Sub-Junior and 25th Junior National Sepaktakraw Championship held at Jaipur on a bright note winning as many as 6 medals including three gold, 2 silver and a bronze.
With sub-junior boys and girls having won their respective titles in the regu event, sub-junior boys doubles team bagged another gold medal for Manipur today beating Bihar in the final.
But sadly, the junior boys and girls teams who entered regu finals finished runners up today.
The junior boys went down to Delhi in the final today while the girls team went down to Haryana to settle for the silver medals.
In the sub-junior boys doubles final staged today, Manipur prevailed 21-9, 21-12 over Bihar to fetch the gold.
Earlier in the pre-quarter final stage, Manipur boys beat Haryana 21-8, 21-7 and saw off Andhra Pradesh 21-5,21-5 with ease in the quarter final.
They then sealed the final ticket knocking out Uttar Pradesh 21-9, 21-9 .
The sub-junior girls doubles team however settled for a bronze medal as they lost 18-21, 15-21 to Bihar in the semi-finals.
In the pre-quarter final match, Manipur had beaten Odisha 21-6, 21-11 and overcame Rajasthan 21-11, 22-20 in the quarter final to make it to the semi-finals.
Both junior boys and doubles teams also had to bite dust as they went down in the pre-quarter and quarter final stage respectively.
The junior boys went down fighting 19-21, 18-21 to Kerala in the last 16 stage as the girls team who had beaten Gujarat 21-10, 21-14 in pre-quarter final stage lost 16-21, 19-21 to Nagaland in the quarter final.
