RCC bridge work nearing completion

The RCC bridge being constructed over the Khujairok river is at the completion stage.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday on behalf of community leaders settling in Moreh town, Manipuri Muslim Council Moreh president Md Rajauddin praised Tengnoupal MLA Letpao Haokip for keeping his promise by constructing the said bridge.
The earlier bridge over Khujairok river consisted of RCC pillars with wooden platforms and with time it became dangerous to cross.
As such, the Moreh denizens repeatedly asked the department concerned and local MLA since the time of Congress government to repair the bridge, but no action was taken, he recalled.
Md Rajauddin continued that during the recently held state assembly election, Letpao Haokip, while declaring his candidature from Tengnoupal assembly constituency, assured the community leaders that even if not elected, he will develop the roadways of the constituency.
And now, he is keeping his promise and the community leaders appreciate it very much, he further said.
Social worker Thangkholun Haokip, who is over seeing the construction work, informed that the Khujairok river bridge is being fully converted to RCC with the platform work completed on Wednesday, while work for the sidebar for support will be completed in the next 3-4 days.
