Wildlife meat seized

Thoubal, March 31 2022:
11 kilograms of suspected 'Sangai' meat was seized from a vehicle at Sekmaijin bridge today.
The seizure was made by a joint team of staff from Keibul Lamjao National Park, Kakching Range and Pallel BO, Special Wildlife Task Force and Unique Wildlife Protection Committee, Manipur.
Sample of the seized meat will be sent to Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun to confirm if it is 'Sangai' or not and appropriate legal actions will be taken up against the person arrested with the meat after receiving reports from Dehradun, said an official of Central Forest Division Mantripukhri.
The arrested person has been handed over to Central Forest Division Mantripukhri for further legal actions.
