CM inaugurates e-Sewa Kendra

Chief Minister N Biren Singh today inaugurated an e-Sewa Kendra at the High Court of Manipur complex, Mantripukhri.
While attending the inaugural function of the 9th anniversary of the High Court of Manipur's establishment at the auditorium of the High Court as chief guest, N Biren Singh said that the facilities being provided under e-Sewa Kendra would help the common people as a one stop centre for all Court related needs.
The Chief Minister also said that the High Court has achieved many milestones and strengthened the justice delivery system since its establishment in 2013 .
He stated that the State Government will give more efforts to strengthen the justice delivery system in the State.
Payment of salary as per 7th Pay Commission recommendations for employees of the High Court has been approved by the State Government, he added.
Saying that the State Government has also released Rs 3.34 crore to the High Court of Manipur to purchase office vehicles for Judicial Officers and for certain other activities, the Chief Minister reminded that the Union Home Minister Amit Shah had laid foundation stone for District Court complexes of Kakching, Noney and Senapati in January.
Another Rs 10.16 crore has been deposited to PWD, Manipur, for construction of Manipur Judicial Academy, he said and added that the Law Department and Deputy Commissioner, Imphal East have initiated steps to settle land issue, if any.
He further stated that Rs 2.22 crore was sanctioned for construction of Annexe Building at Thoubal and another Rs 2.72 crore for District Court building at Tamenglong.
Further highlighting steps taken up by the Government, he said the State Government is targeting to open District Sessions Court at Tamenglong and shift the Court of CJM, Tamenglong from Imphal to Tamenglong within the second week of April, 2022.He said that there are also discussions about establishment of National Law University in the same complex as the Manipur Judicial Academy by acquiring additional land required.
N Biren continued that the present Government is giving special focus on three issues - eradicating corruption, War on Drugs and to bring all insurgent groups to the negotiating table.
As a part of the inaugural function, Chief Justice of High Court of Manipur Justice Sanjay Kumar released the e-Newsletter 2021.The inaugural function was also attended by Judges High Court of Manipur Justice Lanusungkum Jamir, Justice MV Muralidaran, Justice A Bimol Singh, Advocate General, State of Manipur N Kumarjit Singh, High Court Bar Association of Manipur president N Ibotombi Singh, All Manipur Bar Association president M Nilachandra Singh and Bar Council of Manipur chairman N Jotendro Singh.
Artistes of the Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy performed a cultural programme.
