Imphal, August 26 2026: Amid the widespread demand for updating the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Manipur before the census exercise, posters bearing the inscription "Training Cancel" were found pasted on both pillars of GM Hall, where a three-day training programme for census enumerators and supervisors was scheduled to begin today.

Although the training programme was scheduled to commence today, no such event was held at GM Hall.

The Sangai Express could not ascertain whether the training programme had been cancelled or the venue had been changed.

The posters might have been pasted last night, according to police personnel deployed in the area.
