Skill hub initiative launched at MU

Skill hub initiative of Manipur University was formally launched at the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Skill Development, Manipur University.
Manipur University (MU) has been approved as a training provider for the skill hub initiative taken up by the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Skill Development as a part of PMKVY 3.0 in collaboration with the UGC, New Delhi, said a press release by MU.
For the first batch, MU will provide short term training on "Basic of Food Processing" in the job role 'Processed Food Entrepreneur' as per the NSQF framework.
A total of 29 participants have registered for this course which will focus more on hands-on training.
Speaking on the occasion, VC Professor N Lokendra expressed that the varsity will have an incubation centre for the food processing with help of various agencies like NABARD and Directorate of Textiles, Commerce and Industries, Govt of Manipur to provide skill training and conducive entrepreneurial ecosystem for the youths of Manipur.
He further stated that another course on foreign language on the Proficiency in Japanese Language shall also be included under this Skill Hub Initiative in the near future, added the release.
