Manipuri culture slowly dying: Ajit Das

Ranganiketan, Manipur chairman Ajit Das has remarked that is Manipuri culture is slowly dying.
He made the statement during the presentation of Kanglei Seishaklon Sindamsang (KSS), Palace Compound's new production, 'Kangleirol Seitha Ishei' at Nongpok Ingkhol Pureiromba Leikai on Thursday.
Presided over by KSS president Kh Sundari, the event was attended by Ajit Das as chief guest and Manipur University of Culture (MUC) assistant professor Dr Manju Elangbam as guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Ajit Das noted that despite being a small state, Manipur has been able to make its mark globally with its rich cultural heritage.
However, the state's cultural wealth seems to be slowly dying due to lack of attention.
Thus, he stressed the need for concerted efforts to save the cultural wealth of the state, including the various art forms.
Later, Kanglei Nat Cultural Organisation, Naharup Mayai Leikai presented its latest production, 'Pena Phamshak'.
The presentation was attended by Kanglei Nat Cultural Organisation president N Rashirei as president, KSS president Kh Sundari as chief guest and MUC assistant professor Dr Manju Elangbam as guest of honour.
