Skill Hub Initiative launched at MU

A Skill Hub Initiative of Manipur University has been launched on Thursday at the varsity's Centre for Entrepreneurship & Skill Development.
While informing that Manipur University has been approved as a training provider for Skill Hub Initiative taken up by the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Skill Development as a part PMKVY 3.0 in collaboration with UGC, New Delhi, a release said that for the first batch, MU is providing short term training on "Basic of Food Processing" in the job role Processed Food Entrepreneur as per the NSQF framework.
The launch function was attended by MU VC Prof N Lokendra as chief guest, registrar Prof W Chandbabu Singh as guest of honour and MU CESD director Prof Ch Ibohal Meitei as president.
In all, 29 participants have registered for the course which will focus more on hands-on training.
In his address, Prof Lokendra expressed that the University shall also be having an Incubation centre for the food processing with help of various agencies like NABARD and Directorate of Textiles, Commerce and Industries to provide skill training and conducive entrepreneurial ecosystem for the youth of the state.
A course on foreign language on the Proficiency in Japanese Language shall also be included under the Skill Hub Initiative in the near future, the release added.
