MTU-IIC organises hackathon

Manipur Technical University - Institution of Innovation Council (MTU-IIC) in association with the Union Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell conducted an Internal Hackathon under the supervision of MTU vice chancellor Dr Bhabeswar Tongbram at its conference hall on Thursday.
In a release, MTU Smart India Hackathon 2022 College Single Point of Contact (SPOC) Jimmy Laishram informed that the hackathon was organised as a part of the nationwide initiative to provide students with a platform to solve some of the pressing problems faced in the daily lives, and thus inculcate a culture of product innovation and a mind-set of problem-solving.
Eighteen teams three each from five Engineering Departments and the Management Department submitted ideas out of which six teams were shortlisted for the Internal Hackathon.
The teams focused on problem statements of AICTE-MIC Innovation (two teams); Dairy Division, Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying (one team); Renewable/Sustainable Energy (two teams) and Disaster Management (one team), it added.
The release mentioned that each review stage was assessed and graded by a panel of six judges.
The juries selected the top 4 teams from each problem statement.
The selected teams will now be recommended for the National Level Hackathon 'Smart India Hackathon 2022' which will have a grand prize of Rs 1,00,000 per problem statement out of 16 problem statements at the national level.
MTU-IIC further wished best of luck to the selected MTU students and also hoped they will give their best shot at the National Level Hackathon.
