NPO commends Govt's "War on Drugs"

Naga People's Organisation (NPO), Senapati extended its appreciation of the "War on Drugs" campaign, which is being taken up under the initiative of Chief Minister N Biren Singh-led BJP government.
According to a statement issued by the Information & Publicity Wing of NPO, the organisation welcomed the campaign as an apex organisation of Senapati district, and assured of steadfast stand in the fight against drugs.
NPO also congratulated var ious villages within the district which took voluntary action in destruction of poppy plantations within their jurisdictions.
The statement mentioned that NPO has been a beam of light in the fight against drugs and its allied activities, especially with regard to plantation of poppy in the district, so as to preserve and conserve the forest and environment.
The organisation has taken ardent actions in destruction of poppy plants within the district in collaboration with the SP office of the district in the past.
It also reminded the people of the district that there is a standing resolution of the organisation endorsed by all the tribes in the district.
It then urged all concerned to be resolute in upholding what has been resolved and further urged the people of the district to abstain from indulging in poppy plantation, peddling of drugs and usage of drugs or any other form of intoxicants in the district.
NPO also assured of its full cooperation to the state government in the fight against drugs.
