Community contact, extension prog held

A two-day long community contact and extension programme organised by Dhanamanjuri College of Teacher Education (DMCTE) concluded on Wednesday.
The inauguration function of the programme was held on Tuesday at Lilasing Khongnangkhong High School, Thangmeiband here with DMCTE principal Dr RK Lokendra as chief guest, School headmistress Ng Shantibala as president and DMCTE associate professor Kh Dineshkumar as guest of honour.
As part of the inaugural function, students and trainee teachers were divided into five houses and carried out a cleanliness drive in the school campus.
In his speech, Dr RK Lokendra said that the programme, which is an annual event of DMCTE, has been organised with the aim of informing the roles to be played by trainee teachers and teachers at community level.
Programme in-charge Dr Ch Tomba stated that the programme is meant to provide a discussion platform regarding the new teachers and learning methods to be used after implementation of NEP-2020.The programme will also help in building good relationship with schools at community level with distribution of requisite materials, he conveyed.
Discussions were also held on the responsibilities of teachers in school education, vocalisation in school education, skill education and value-based education and NEP-2020.Later, DMCTE distributed stationery items and teaching aids to the students and teachers of the school respectively.
