6th MNCA Plate Tournaments : Aneesh, bowlers help KIYC thrash YAC by 7 wickets

KIYC, Kshetrigao rode on Aneesh Ahmed half century and bowlers to register a comfortable 7 wicket win over YAC, Yaiskul in the ongoing 6th MNCA Plate Tournament at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium today.
After being put in to bat first, YAC had a disastrous start and succumbed to 103 in 29 overs as KIYC bowlers worked in tandem to stun YAC batters.
KIYC completed the chase within 13.1 overs with Aneesh Ahmed hitting a six for the second Group (B) stage win in four matches.
KIYC bowlers were in control of the innings from the beginning with Abdul Hamid finding the breakthrough in the second over by trapping Reebanta Yumnam (1) lbw before Monjit Loushambam got run put on duck in the first delivery third over by Azmad Kh who bowled out Abocha Laishram on golden duck in the next ball.
YAC slipped to 2 for 4 in the first ball of the fourth over as Salam Raju who came in for Abocha was bowled out by Abdul Hamid.
After a flurry of wickets, Amit Singh Maisnam (36) and Dhaneshwar Singh Laishram (12) forged a 70-run fifth wicket partnership before Mohammad Zakariya Shah got rid of both of them to reduce YAC to 75 for 6 in 20.4 overs.
Mohammed Abdulla Khan then removed three lower orders to return with the best bowling figures of 3/26 in 7 overs before Azmad Kh caught and bowled John Singh Oinam (10) and wrapped up the innings.
In reply, KIYC lost the openers - Md Abdul Hamid (0) to Dhaneshwor Laishram and Geetchandra Moirangthem (lbw) by Huidrom Guneshwor in three overs but Aneesh Ahmed and Md Farhat resurrected the innings by gathering 64 runs for the fourth wicket in 39 balls.
Md Farhat however holed out to Dhaneshwor off Amit Maisnam delivery in the 1 Oth over before Aneesh Ahmed (62 off 44 : 3 fours and 4 sixes) and Md Kaosar (13 off 6 balls; 3 fours) take the tally to 108 in 13.1 overs with 7 wickets left to spare.
Aneesh Ahmed who produced an eye-catching batting performance on the way to his unbeaten 44-ball 62, was adjudged man of the match.
OSCAR will play UCC in the next match (Group A) tomorrow at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
