Thoubal, August 30 2026: Preparation for the August 31 Meeyamgi Khollao Puba Khongchat 2026 in Thoubal has been completed, said Thoubal Amasung Kakching District Apunba Lup (TAKDAL) convenor W Jotinkumar today.

The August 31 rally, aimed at uniting communities to safeguard Manipur, will raise several issues including the NRC, said Jotinkumar, speaking to reporters at the Imphal office of the United Zeliangrongpui Co-ordination Committee (UZCC) .

The rally is supported by civil bodies of different communities, including the United Zeliangrongpui Coordination Committee (UZCC), Naga Peoples' Union Imphal Women's Wing, Koubru Range Liangmai Women's Union, Chandel Naga Peoples Organisation, North Indigenous Peoples Women's Organisation Manipur, All Manipur Ulama Council, United Manipur Muslim Women's Development Organisation, Asian Pacific Foundation Manipur and Committee on Protection of Meitei Victims.

Jotinkumar said the August 31 rally will kick off from Kodompokpi Sports Complex, Wangjing at 1 pm, and conclude at the Khongjom War Memorial Complex with a public meeting.

The rally will raise several issues, and take resolutions on the issues later in a public meeting, he said.

The rally will demand the Government to save Manipur and her people, conduct NRC prior to Census, end Central Government's "proxy-war", and deliver justice for innocent members of Meitei and Naga communities killed in the ongoing conflict.

It will urge the Government to restore peace and allow internally displaced persons to return to their original villages and homes.

The public rally will also call on the indigenous communities to unite and face all threats facing them as one force, Jotinkumar said.

Leaders of different communities will lead the rally, he added, urging members of the public to take part in the rally.
