MPCC takes out 'Azadi Ki Gaurav Yatra' rally

As part of celebrating 75 years of India's independence, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) organised an 'Azadi Ki Gaurav Yatra' rally at Moirang on Wednesday.
The rally attended by Congress Legislative Party leader and former chief minister O Ibobi Singh, MPCC president K Meghachandra, former MLA Gaikhangam, MLA O Surjakumar, former Moirang MLA P Sharatchandra along with Congress workers started with offering of floral tributes to the statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose at INA Memorial Complex.
The rally was taken out from the INA Museum till Moirang Lamkhai during which the rally -ists shouted slogans against rise in prices of essential commodities and spiralling rate of unemployment while at the same time reminding the public about the Congress party's role in India's struggle for independence.
Speaking in connection with the rally, O Ibobi mentioned that it was organised as part of a resolution taken during a meeting of Congress leaders held at Udaipur in Rajasthan.
He also paid respect to the freedom fighters who freed the nation from the British rule and also to Moirang Kangla where the tricolour was first hoisted.
On the other hand, MPCC president K Meghachandra stated that the rally was held as part of ' Zara Yaad Karo Qurbani India @ 75' campaign.
Congress will continue to work for the welfare of the citizens and to solve the problem of unemployment, he assured.
