District level Har Ghar Tiranga campaign organised

As part of its Har Ghar Tiranga (HGT) campaign, the Kangpokpi district administration on Wednesday put up hoardings at various locations in the district to promote the week celebration of Independence Day from August 11-17 .
Posters provided by the Directorate of Information and Public Relations were put up at Gam-giphai, Yaikongpao, Motbung, Leikop and Kangpokpi headquarters and also displayed at the DC Office Complex, offices of other departments, and other strategic locations.
Office of the Zonal Education Officer also organised a painting and slogan writing competition at Karakhul, Kalapahar, Tumnoupokpi and Kangpokpi high schools as well as at Keithelmanbi and Kholjang junior high schools.
The prizes will be distributed on August 15.The district administration is also collaborating with the Kangpokpi Forest Division in organising an event to hoist the national flag atop the Mount Koubru on Thursday.
On the other hand, rehearsal for the Independence Day will be held at Brigadier Thomas Ground in the morning.
In Churachandpur district, the HGT campaign is in full swing with several activities been carried out under the supervision of deputy commissioner Sharath Chandra Arroju.
A huge walkathon was also organised as part of the campaign on Wednesday morning.
Holding and waving the tri-colour, DLOs and their staff, Churachandpur based philanthropic organisations participated in the walkathon from Mini-Secretariat, Tuibong to Public Ground, Hiang-tam Lamka to spread awareness about the Har Ghar Tiranga.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Arroju informed that other events like cycle and bike rallies will be organised in the days to come and appealed to all to hoist the national flag in their respective houses.
Meanwhile, national flags were also distributed to public through SDOs concerned.
The DLOs, on the other hand, took up various initiatives such as painting of walls in their respective office premises on the theme of Indian independence movement and freedom struggle; pasting of HGT logos and stickers on OPD tickets and ambulances by the medical department; painting and slogan writing competitions, 'prabhat pheris', quiz and singing competitions by ZEO; painting of walls in town by CEO, ADCC; and illumination of Mini-Secretariat with tricolour by MSPDCL amongst Others.
Also in Thoubal, the Zonal Education Officer Zone III under the aegis of the district administration, on Wednesday organised a painting and slogan competition at Khongjom War Memorial Complex, in connection with the HGT campaign and as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
In his address, Thoubal DC A Subhash Singh said Har Ghar Tiranga campaign is being organised all over India to commemorate 75th year of India's Independence to instil the idea of patriotism and nationalism to the students who are the pillars of future generation.
He also appealed to the students to hoist the tri-colour flag at their homes and share with their teachers and friends.
About 80 students from various schools under Zone III participated in the competition.
As part of the campaign, the district administration is organising various programmes like rally, slogan writing, painting and debate competition.
Earlier on August 8, a walkathon from Thoubal Bazar ground to ZEO Office, Thoubal, Mini Secretariat was held with the participation of about 350 students from various schools.
Under the Lilong ICDS project, national flags were hoisted at various Anganwadi centres.
Various departments in the district also hoisted tri-colour flags as part of the campaign.
Posters were also pasted on passenger vehicles plying in and around the district.
Meanwhile, NYK Thoubal and Lilong Ipham Leikai Development Club (LILDC) organised a "Tree Plantation Program" at Lilong Mayai Leikai as a part of Swachhta Pakwada (cleanliness fortnight) and Har Ghar Thanga campaign.
Cleanliness drives were also conducted on Wednesday at various government offices in connection with the upcoming Independence Day celebration with the participation of officials and staff of District Fishery Office, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, MSPDCL Thoubal Division, NYK, Integrated Child Protection Unit, District Employment Exchange, Customs & Excise Office, District Information Officer (DIPR) and Public Works Department, among others.
