To give more teeth to NRC before census demand...Poster campaign launched

As a part of the ongoing mass movement for updating the NRC before census, a poster campaign was launched today at Keishampat.
Speaking to media persons at the launch of the poster campaign, United Clubs' Organisation Kei-shampat Thokchom Chandrasakhi warned that they will launch strong protests under the Campaign for Just and Fair Delimitation (JFD) without bothering even for possible loss of lives if the State Assembly does not adopt a concrete resolution to implement the NRC in the State.

Pointing out that the MLAs who went to Delhi recently have not yet tabled any report to the public regarding their meeting with Central leaders, Chan-drasakhi said that the State Cabinet ought to adopt a resolution in favour of updating the NRC instead of sending MLAs to Delhi.
She asserted that legislators of both the ruling and Opposition parties must have the courage to adopt a unanimous resolution in favour of updating the NRC before census.
United Clubs Organisation, Keishampat is a common body of 10 localities of Keishampat and the organisation is prepared to launch different modes of agitation apart from the poster campaign.
Chandrasakhi said that Government employees residing within the ten localities of Keishampat must not take part in any census related activity.
Local club members and Meira Paibis who took part in the poster campaign shouted in unison the popular slogan "No NRC, No Census" .
Meanwhile, the Amai Piba Apun Lup (APAL), Kangleipak has pledged full support to the "No NRC, No Census" movement being spearheaded by the JFD .
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here today, APAL general secretary Angomcha Maingou said that they will take part in every protest launched by the JFD in pursuit of the collective demand for updating the NRC before census.
All illegal immigrants must be identified through the NRC and deported to their native countries, he added.
