State logs zero death, 50 new cases

Imphal, February 23 2022:
The state on Wednesday reported only 50 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 1352 samples tested in the last 24 hours, registering a positivity rate of 3.70 per cent against 2.84 per cent recorded on Tuesday.
No death case was reported on Tuesday and the fatality toll remained at 2104 .
Till date, the virus has claimed lives of 186 vaccinated people of which 56 had received second doses.
In the last 24 hours, 81 patients were discharged from home isolation (65), RIMS (3), JNIMS (5) and CCCs (8) .
The active case came down to 565 out of which 228 (40.35 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 270 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 84 in RIMS but there is no updated information on bed availability in Covid Care Centres.
Out of the 16 districts, five did not report any fresh Covid cases on Wednesday.
So far, the state has recorded 10,810 positive cases and 102 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 3342 new positive cases and 58 fatalities.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 462 and 16 respectively.
According to official reports, the 50 fresh cases included 46 people (24 male & 22 female) from among the general population and 4 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (4), JNIMS (8) and other testing centres (38) .
The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (14), Imphal West (11), Thoubal (3), Bishnupur (3), Kakching (2), Kamjong (1), Tengnoupal (1), Senapati (2), Chandel (4) and Churachandpur (5) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,36,598 while the number of recovered cases is 1,33,929 (general population - 1,28,950 and CAPF personnel - 4,980) and number of active cases is 565 (general population - 544 and CAPF personnel - 20).The recovery rate improved to 98.05 per cent.
A total of 204 D-type and 96 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours and 4569 vaccine doses administered on Tuesday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 15,02,471, out of which 11,21,145 had received second doses and 56,888 had taken precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48,543), Imphal East (30,334), Thoubal (10,117), Churachandpur (11,029), Kangpokpi (3116), Tamenglong (3461), Bishnupur (9790), Senapati (2472), Ukhrul (3244), Kakching (6855), Chandel (2691), Noney (1149), Tengnoupal (1190), Jiribam (1109), Kamjong (1033) and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (701), Imphal East (507), Thoubal (187), Churachandpur (167), Kangpokpi (66), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (204), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (49), Kakching (l2l), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (l4), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,021 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,570 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,05,445 tests per million population against the national average of 5,43,699 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent and cumulative positivity rate at 8.71 per cent.
