Imphal, February 23 2022:
Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has once again advised educational institutions in the State to refrain from charging excessive fees in regards to the form fill of Class X, XI and XII examinations.
In a statement, DESAM has informed that the student body has held talks with 64 more schools in this connection.
In a statement, DESAM further accused the founder of private educational institutions of taking advantage of their teachers by underpaying them and using education as a means to fatten their wallets.
Calling these people as merchants of education, DESAM advised against treating education as a business transaction.
With regards to charging exorbitant fees for the form fill up of Class X, XI and XII examinations, DESAM has stated that it will take up necessary action against the schools/colleges who refuse to reduce the fees and refund the excess money charged.
Further, the student body urged the Government to take up measures to audit the finances of these private educational institutions and implement a new policy to regulate the fees charged.
