Imphal, April 27 2024:
Meitei Alliance has strongly condemned the heinous crimes of killing security forces, innocent civilians and attack on the economic lifelines by Kuki terrorists.
In a release, Meitei Alliance condemned the killing of two brave CRPF soldiers (sub-inspector N Sarkar and head constable Arup Saini) and injuring of two others (inspector Jadav Das and constable Aftab Hussain) in a bomb attack on Saturday.
Subsequently, during a search operation in a Kuki village, a significant cache of arms and ammunition was recovered.
It recalled the attack on economic lifeline by bombarding a bridge along the National-Highway-2 (Trans Asian Highway 1) in the predawn hours of April 24 to sever the crucial connectivity to the landlocked Imphal valley and the attack a convoy of goods carriers along the National Highway-37 causing bullet injury to two drivers and destruction of five fuel tankers on April 16."While India's internal security and Act East Policy must witness steady progress, the vulnerability of the Trans Asian Highway and National Highways passing through Manipur cannot be addressed until the Kuki terrorists have been neutralised.
Due to lack of actions, Kuki terrorists are enjoying parasitic aggrandizement by preying on vehicles, commuters, passengers, commodities, lifesaving essential items, and emergency services passing through these routes", the release said.
It appealed to central government to swiftly act, arrest the culprits, enforce adequate rules of procedure for safety along the Highways, and neutralise the Kuki terrorists.
