BJP Gout halted Jiri-Tipaimukh project: Asfaque

A flag hoisting ceremony of Md Ashab Uddin, JDU candidate for the seat of Jiribam Assembly Constituency, was held at Sonapur in Jiribam, on Wednesday.
The party's' flag was hoisted by Asfaque Ahmed Khan, national general secretary Janata Dal (United), in the presence of Khuslender Kumar, MP (Lok Sabha, Bihar); MK Bodain, president JD(U), Jiribam Mandal; and Md Ashab Uddin.
Addressing the gathering, Khuslender said that people need to vote for Ashab Uddin to bring development in Jiribam.
The MP claimed that the Jiri-Tipaimukh road project was sanctioned during the tenure of Ashab Uddin, but the BJP government halted the project so as to affect the election of Ashab.
He then assured that if Ashab Uddin got elected, he will work for the development of Jiribam under the guidance of Nitish Kumar, while asserting that Ashab will be given a ministerial berth if JD(U)joins in the formation, of Manipur government.
Asfaque declared that JD(U) is a party for all and it never indulges in blame game and claiming credit.
While predicting that no party can form the government in Manipur without the support of JD(U), lie also appealed for electing Ashab Uddin to help bring development in Jiribam.
In his speech, Ajshajj Uddin said his objective is to maintain peace, justice and development of all in Jiribam.
Commenting on the Jiri-Tipaimukh road project, he said that the project had already been sanctioned during his tenure, "so there is nothing new to do" .
