Imphal, February 23 2022:
Muvanlai Athletics (Kangpokpi) served up a goal feast with a 19-0 mauling of LYCC (Chandel) as WAFA (Wangoi) notched up a 2-1 win over KYVO (Kwasiphai) in Wednesday's action of the 63rd CC Meet at Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.
Muvanlai's Mangtinsei made the most of their game against LYCC, racking up nine goals.
Haotinsem also impressed with a five-goal salvo.
The Kangpokpi squad stamped their authority from the word go as Zamlunmang struck in the 3rd minute to open the floodgates.
Then Mangtinsei extended the lead in the 11th minute before Ngamminlengou (17th) and Bidyachandra (19) further stretched the advantage.
Prolific Mangtinsei roared into action for a treble (22nd, 33rd, 35th) to put his side 7-0 up as Haotinsem made it 8-0 in the 43rd minute before Mangtinsei claimed his fifth goal in the 44th minute to give Muvanlai a 9-0 lead, heading into the second half.
After a first-half nine-goal barrage, Munvanlai were in no mood to relent as they continued their scoring spree in the second period courtesy of their trio of Haotinsem, Mangtinsei and Lunjahao.
Mangtinsei kick-started the second-half blitzkrieg, collecting his sixth goal just a minute after the break and the scoreline read 11-0 in the space of three minutes when Haotinsem netted his second goal.
