Imphal, February 23 2022:
Senior AICC observer Jairam Ramesh has alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi visit to Manipur and his address to the State on Tuesday was a flop.
Addressing the media at Congress Bhavan today, the Congress leader continued that the number of people attending the election rally addressed by Rahul Gandhi was two times larger than what was seen at Luwangpokpa Cricket Ground yesterday and as such the Prime Minister's visit was a flop.
Claiming that BJP which is synonymous with lie (Haijinbi) is sending Union Home Minister Amit Shah again today to address an election rally, Jairam Ramesh asked if the Union Home Minister can repeal AFSPA from Manipur and fulfil the aspirations of the people here and other States of North East India.

Not a point is mentioned about the removal of AFSPA in the election manifesto of the BJP which the Congress is committed to, the former MP said and reminded that the draconian Act was removed from certain Assembly segments of Imphal East and Imphal West during the tenure of the Congress.
"The drama of the Union Home Minister Amit Shah will not yield any positive result," the Congress leader ridiculed.
Further asking if the BJP has been able to check the rampant smuggling of drugs from Myanmar side after renaming the Look East Policy to Act East Policy, he asked how the BJP is considering to control such inflow of drugs into the State.
The Congress is committed to reserve one third of Government jobs for women if elected, Jairam Ramesh said and added that Rahul Gandhi has shown his respect for the women of Manipur by visiting the Ima Market during his recent visit to the State.
Saying that the Congress will construct about 15 more Ima Market in the State if it comes to power, Jairam Ramesh continued that the Congress party will also focus on uplifting women, youth and farmers of the State.
