Poll preparations in full swing at Jiribam

Jiribam, February 23 2022:
Poll preparation process for second phase election is moving on in full swing at Jiribam District with the District Election Officer, Jiribam W Malemnganba Chenglei appointing 6 separate polling teams exclusively for the Absentee voters.
The 6 polling teams for Absentee voters comprise of 2 (two) Polling Officials with videographer, micro-observer and security personnel each.
The main purpose of forming these teams is to visit eligible Absentee voters and issue receipt of postal ballots apart from conducting a house-to-house visit.
The house-to-house visit has been fixed in 2 rounds.
As per the provisions provided by Election Commission of India, the facility for voting through postal ballot paper is being imparted to Senior Citizens (AVSC), PwDs (AVPD) marked in Electoral Roll and Covid-19 suspect or affected (AVCO) persons at their houses or place of quarantine/hospital.
Absentee Voters belonging to the special categories can avail the facilities of Postal Ballot in Jiribam District for the 12th Manipur Assembly Election, 2022.All electors in 40-Jiribam AC who are above 80 years (387 Nos) and marked as PwD (173 Nos) in the electoral Roll have also been provided Form 12D before the due date.
The Assistant Returning Officer, 40-Jiribam AC has received forms in 12D, 147 senior citizens (AVSC), 11 PwD (AVPD) and zero COVID-19 affected or suspected (AVCO) electors for exercising facility of Postal Ballot as Absentee Voters by the last date of receipt of forms on February 9, 2022 .
It may be mentioned that the 1st Round visit will be held from February 25 to 27 and the 2nd Round visit for absentee voters from February 28
to March 2 .
