Imphal, February 23 2022:
North East in- charge of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Narendra Verma has said that BJP government would not return and a new coalition government of parties having faith in secularism will be formed in Manipur after the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election.
Narendra Verma stated this during a one-day political conference of NCP held at the residence of party's candidate in Kshetrigao AC Punam Rani Wangkhem at Porompat Thawanthaba Leikai on Wednesday.
Addressing the gathering, Narendra Verma pointed out that prices of petrol and diesel and other essential commodities have skyrocketed during the BJP government.
Apart from this, thousands of farmers committed suicide after the BJP government brought out three Farm Bills and no one in the country want to see the return of the anti-people BJP government, he added.
Lambasting chief minister N Biren Singh's claim that people of the country would not have survived from COVID-19 pandemic in case Narendra Modi had not been the Prime Minister, the NCP leader contended that COVID-19 spread across the country due to wrong policy of Modi-led BJP government.
The country faced acute shortage of oxygen during the second wave of the pandemic and people across the country are yet to forget hardships and fatalities endured during the pandemic, he added.
While informing people that assembly election scheduled on February 28 and March 5 will decide fate of the people of Manipur, Narendra appealed to electors to take the right decision in the upcoming election for a bright future of the land and teach BJP a fitting lesson.
He further said that a coalition government having faith in secularism including NCP will be formed after the election in Manipur and urged people to support Punam Rani so as to enable her to join the government.
In her speech at the conference, Punam Rani said that it was very unfortunate that BJP talks about providing 4/.5kg rice per month to people as if the party gives life to the entire people of the country.
She also said that Kshetrigao MLA remained silent for around four years and is begging for vote only during election time.
