63rd CC Meet : Robert scores record 9 goals in MA's 19-0 demolition of LYCC

It rained goals as Robert and Haotinsem ran riot to keep LYCC defence on toes and score at will to inspire Muvanlai Athletics, Kangpokpi a landslide 19-0 victory in their penultimate Group E match of the ongoing 63rd Sir Churachand Singh KCSI, CBE Memorial Football Tournament here at Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong.
Robert completed a rare feat of triple hattrick today to join the race for the highest scorer in the tourney and Haotinsem hit a double hat-trick as MA dominated the possession right from the word go and their Chandel rivals were never in contention.
It took only three minutes for the winners to score the opener via Zamlunmang before Robert had his first in the 11th minute to make it 2-0 .

Touthang and Kh Bidyachandra scored back to back in the 17th and the 19th minutes to further extend the lead to 4-0 before Robert added three more goals in the trot (22', 33', 35') to ensure MA head into the break with a comprehensive 7-0 lead.
The game remained in MA's control in the second half as well as their midfielders and the attacking third worked in tandem to toy around the defence line of the Chandel team who had carved out a 3-2 win against KYVO, Kwasiphai for the only win in the tournament.
After the break, Haotinsem got his name on the scoresheet with a drilling shot in the 43rd minute before Robert carried forward the scoring spree the very next minute and the other in the 46th minutes to complete his double hat-trick.
Haotinsem then made his way for his second in the 49th minute before Lunjapao scored in the 54th minute and Robert added his 7th in the 55th minute to make it 13-0 in MA's favour.
Haotinsem then completed his hattrick at the stroke of the hour mark as LYCC remained clueless and stuck in their own half and went on to score his fourth in the 63rd minute before star of the day Robert got another in the 66th minute to make it 16-0 .
Lunjapao completed his double in the 72nd minute before Haotinsem (74') and Robert (80') took their turns to complete the 19-0 rout of LYCC.
The result ensured the Kangpokpi side finished on top of the table with 8 points courtesy of two wins and two draws in the 5 team group competition and a place in the quarter finals.
In the last group E league match of the tournament, an own goal by N Nanao (26) of KYVO and H Rakesh strike in the 57th minute earned WAFA, Wangoi a 2-1 win over KYVO, Kwasiphai.
The lone goal of the Kwasiphai side was scored by T Surjakanta in the 49th minute of the match.
With the win, WAFA were able to finish Group runners up on 7 points.
