Giant brain tumour removed at Raj Medicity

A 70 year old resident of Tatbung village, Tamenglong district was discharged from Raj Medicity yesterday after a giant brain tumour was successfully removed on February 13 .
In a statement, the Media Relation Officer of Raj Medicity said that the patient had been referred to Raj Medicity after seeking treatment at Jiribam Hospital and Silchar Hospital respectively.
The patient was admitted into the ICU of the hospital on February 10 after an examination of his brain showed a very large tumour measuring 15 cm in diameter compressing on the left side of his brain, the statement added.
The patient was kept under the care of Dr Soubam Parkinson Singh, Consultant, Neurosurgeon, Raj Medicity, who deemed him fit to undergo the necessary operation to remove the tumour.
On February 13, surgery was performed on the patient which lasted for 3 hours and 30 minutes.
After responding well throughout the course of treatment and recovering fast, the patient was finally discharged on the 9th day after surgery according to Dr Soubam Parkinson Singh.
The statement further shared that the family of the patient expressed their gratitude towards Dr Parkinson Singh and his team for the treatment and care provided.
