63rd CC Meet : Tongminsei hits brace as Classic FA post three wins on trot, XI Star SU top Group H

Classic FA rode on Tongminsei brace to thump ASSA, Sangaiyumpham 3-0 for third successive group (B) stage wins in the 63rd Sir Churachand Singh KCSI, CBE Memorial Football Tournament being underway at Main Stadium Khuman Lampak and Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong.
Tongminsei opened the scoring 12 minutes into the game at Main Stadium before completing his brace in the 35th minute to hand Classic FA, Chingmeirong a 2-0 first half lead.
Ganningam then slotted home the decisive goal in the 78th minute of the match as the Sangaiyumpham team failed to make the best of their chances in both the halves.

The result takes Chingmeirong closer to the quarter final stage.
In another Group B league match at the same venue, Longoulen scored a goal each side of the half to hand AIM, Khabam a 2-1 win over DM RAO, Sekmai.
Lungoulen broke the deadlock in the 26th minute after the two sides exchanged a few runs to give AIM a slender 1-0 lead till the break but A Kinesh pulled the equaliser in the 49th minute for DM RAO to keep the competition wide open.
Lungoulen however dashed away their hope scoring his second in the 65th minute and AIM held on to their lead till the final whistle to cap the campaign with two wins.
Later in the day, Reuben and Mangminlal ran riot to score three goals each in F4C, Saikul's 7-1 win over FC Lamjao.
F4C had a brilliant start and pumped in four goals within the half hour mark to take a 4-1 first half lead as Reuben opened the floodgate in the 3rd minute before completing his treble with goals in the 15th and 29th minute and Mangminlal scored the team's second in the 7th minute.
Th Yaiphaba had scored the only goal for FC Lamjao in the 32nd minute before Seijoshep made it 5-1 with his strike for F4C in the 52nd minute.
Mangminlal then had his second goal in the 63rd minute to extend the lead to 6-1 before completing his treble in the 80th minute to give the Saikul team a 7-1 finish.
Elsewhere at Artificial Turf, NACO, Nambul Mapal edged past DFA Moreh 2-1 for only Group G victory before RAU, Lairikyengbam Leikai beat PAMYAL, Patsoi 2-1 and XI Star SU thumped UBSA, Mantak 3-1 .
NACO took a 1-0 first half lead courtesy of S Basanta goal in the 33rd minute.
Rohit however put DFA Moreh on level terms scoring the equaliser in the 62nd minute before Sinruwng hit the winner for the Nambul Mapal team late in the 82nd minute.
Meanwhile in a Group H league match, RAU rallied back from a goal down after a barren first half to register a second win in three group stage matches.
Rebanta N was first to score for the Patsoi team in the 48th minute before Lamjingba N pulled level for RAU in the 57th minute.
Jangjagin then broke the deadlock for RAU in the 71st minute and the team eventually went home 2-1 .
Later in the last match of the day at Artificial Turf, Kh Beckham scored a brace to hand XI Star SU a 3-1 win against UBSA and earn a place in the quarter finals.
Md Nasir put UBSA ahead in the 29th minute with a brilliant strike only to be equalised by Kh Beckham after 38 minutes and he went on to convert a penalty two minutes into the added time of the first half following a foul by Md Jaffar of UBSA to overturn the lead.
The second half saw a neck and neck affair as the Akampat team looked to consolidate more goals while UBSA searched for an equaliser.
The defence lines on both the ends managed to cancel out one another until T Donaldo scored four minutes from time to hand XI Star SU a comfortable 3-1 lead.
Eventually, XI Star SU ran out 3-1 winners as UBSA failed to convert their late chances.
