Imphal, February 19 2022:
Former Chief Minister and CLP leader Okram Ibobi has asserted that the State will face a difficult and uncertain future if the agenda of BJP such as advocacy of only one religion continues.
He made the statement at the flag hoisting ceremony of INC candidate in Kumbi AC Dr Kh Romesh held at Kumbi Khuga Wangma today.
The former Chief Minister continued that the level of politics indulged in by some defectors in Kumbi AC is rather embarrassing as the person seems to be taking the masses for granted.
Saying that many developmental projects were taken up in the Constituency during the Congress regime such as installation of a 33 KV transformer and improving road conditions among others, Ibobi contended that the Congress will bag the majority in the ensuing election and deliver the aspiration of the people again.

Saying that the Constituency is now lacking in many areas due to the insincerity of the elected leader, the CLP leader urged the gathering to humble the politician who sees the masses as his own property and not give their mandate to those who randomly switch allegiance.
He further urged the gathering to not give their valuable votes to BJP which frequently undermines the principles of democracy.
Sugnu AC MLA K Ranjit who also attended the ceremony said that Manipur is in a difficult position today as the State Government led by Chief Minister N Biren Singh was formed in unnatural ways.
Continuing that the BJP led Governments at the Centre and the State are infamous for sabotaging democratic ethos, the MLA said that foul play began from the moment BJP was invited to form the Government.
They also employed unethical means in choosing the Rajya Sabha member as three MLAs were disqualified, he added.
If this party is not abolished while there is time, the State will be in quandary, Ranjit asserted and urged the people to support Congress in the election.
Saying that the BJP led Government at the Centre has disinvested many of the Nation's assets to big corporations including the Bir Tikendrajit International Airport in Imphal, the MLA continued that Congress opted to form an alliance with five Left parties so as to save the State and the Nation at large.
Claiming that Ujjwala scheme which the BJP is taking pride of is just an LPG business while Go to Hills is just a tour of the elected leaders, he asked what benefits would Go to Hills mission give to the people of hill districts if the Chief Minister visit the remote districts in a helicopter and return to valley on the same day.
Though the districts of Manipur were bifurcated into sixteen by the Congress for better administration, there are no SP and DC offices in majority of the districts even today, he added.
