Health, education common agenda for BPR candidates

All the three candidates in Bishnupur constituency for the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election are laying emphasis on bringing improvement in health, education and economic sectors.
In an exclusive chat with The People's Chronicle as a part of this daily's 'Know Your Candidate' campaign, BJP candidate Govindas Konthoujam said that he is contesting the election to plug the gap between the elected representative and public.
He affirmed that improving health, education and economy would be accorded top priority so as to realise PM Modi's vision of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas'.
Accelerating the pace of economic development would be his agenda for the state as overall progress would automatically promote peace, Govindas added.
According to INC candidate Ningthoujam Joykumar, sluggish pace of development, poor economy and lack of employment opportunities in the state are some key reasons for him to join electoral politics.
While stating that he would focus on development of health and education sector as well as ensuring safe drinking water for the people of his constituency if elected.
He also vowed to work for saving the state from the hands of power-hungry and contractor-turned politicians as well as constitutional recognition of Manipur as a hill state.
JD-U candidate Oinam Nabakishore informed that he is contesting the election with the objective to use knowledge gained during his bureaucratic stints in different parts of the country in order to bring development in the state by becoming part of the decision making body.
His main priority for his constituency would be improvement of water supply facility and education sector as well as developing playgrounds.
Nabakishore also pledged to tap human resource by promoting quality education, entrepreneurship, self-employment and quality healthcare by improving primary healthcare sector.
