Postal ballot teams dispatched

Churachandpur, February 19 2022:
With the option of postal ballot provided by the Election Commission for absentee voters, including those above 80 years of age, persons with disabilities (PWDs) electors and Covid-19 patients during the ensuing Manipur Assembly polls, the DEO/DC of Churachandpur PawanYadav dispatched 9 polling teams today from Mini-Secretariat complex in the presence of Shivanand Surve, SP Churachandpur, ROs and AROs.
The polling team comprised 2 polling officials along with a videographer and security.
The number of polling teams dispatched today included 5 for Saikot AC, 1 for Henglep AC and 3 for Churachandpur AC.
5 teams for Churachandpur AC and 1 team for Singhat AC were also sent yesterday.
No polling team will be sent to Tipaimukh AC and Thanlon AC as no application for the same was received.

The polling team will go to the elector's house along with a Voting Compartment and get the electors to vote on the Postal Ballot maintaining complete secrecy of vote.
For the first time, Postal Ballot facility for Absentee Voters for the categories- 80 years and above (AVSC), PwDs (AVPD) and Covid-19 (AVCO) are available for the 12th Manipur Assembly Election, 2022, as per the provisions provided by ECI.
Meanwhile, the commissioning of EVMs and VVPATS for the 6 ACs of Churachandpur and Pherzawl districts was completed today.
The machines are sealed and stored in the strong rooms located at Old Mini-Secretariat, Tuibong.
At the same time, the 3rd round of training for polling personnel is going on at St Mary's Higher Secondary School, Tuibong and is slated to be completed by February 22, 2022 .
