NPF reaches out with 'intregration' call

As in the past, the Naga People's Front (NPF) again reached out to the people of Ukhrul Assembly Constituency, Chingai Assembly Constituency and Kamjong Assembly Constituency with their call for the integration of all Naga ancestral homeland as well as to strengthen hill-valley relationship and laid down their stand on the 'Indo-Naga political issue' .
Hitting the campaign trail on behalf of the three NPF candidates of the three ACs, Achumbemo Kikon secretary general of NPF Central Kohima said that the NPF was formed to secure the rights of the Naga people living in the region.
Apart from the common social organisations of the Nagas, the NPF is the only political front that has been floated to raise a united voice for the Naga people across boundaries and safeguard their rights, he said.

NPF also prayed for an early and honourable solution to the Indo-Naga political dialogue that has been in process for over two decades.
It was with the support of the NPF that the BJP was able to form the Government in Manipur, he said and added that since then the hills-valley relationship has taken a turn for the better.
Political stability too has been ensured, he added.
Dr Shiirhozelie Liezietsu president NPF Central Kohima who also addressed the people stressed on the need to further strengthen the NPF to ensure the victory of its candidates in the said three ACs.
Liezietsu added that it is unfortunate that some Naga personalities have embraced other political parties and termed such acts as 'misad-ventures' of the highest order.
Reaching out to the people, the NPF leader said that the co-operation of the Tangkhul people is highly needed to build a strong Naga political party.
Dr.Liezietsu who is also a former Chief Minister of Nagaland urged the Tangkhul community to give due recognition to those 'who have sacrificed for our political cause' .
Ukhrul is a hot bed of all socio-political issue and as such it is highly needed for the NPF candidates to emerge victorious this time, he said and added that though NPF and BJP are current partners in the Government, there is no written commitment or agreement.
NPF will listen to the voice of the people, and the voice of the people is supreme, he declared.
MLAs from Nagaland Dr Chotisuh Sazo and Y Vikheho Swu also spoke to the gathering.
NPF candidates of Phungyar AC Leishiyo Kei-shing, Ukhrul AC Ram- nganing Muivah and Chingai AC Khashim Rui-vah were felicitated during the programme.
Supporters and well wishers attended the campaign held at Wino Bazar, Ukhrul.
