Chief Minister N Biren Singh has said that injuring the father of an NPP candidate in Andro AC in a poll related violence is unfortunate.
Speaking to media persons while coming to attend the flag hoisting ceremony of BJP candidate in Kshetrigao AC N Indrajit today, the Chief Minister stated that the State police will probe the incident soon.
"I have heard that the bullet was fired by the security of the NPP candidate but a probe will be initiated nonetheless," he said.
Saying that he also received information about certain candidates choosing their own escort, N Biren maintained that the BJP doesn't encourage any form of violence and had instructed all the party candidates to campaign peacefully.Drugs seized : A team of NAB personnel arrested one drug trafficker along with 600 grams of heroin and 10,000 WY tablets from Makhan Village, yesterday.
The person has been identified as Shingsei Letminthang Haokip (41), s/o Tongjapao Haokip of Tuisomjang village, currently staying at M Chahnou village in Tengnoupal district.
The seized drugs were found concealed inside the fuel tank of one Hyundai Creta car, said sources.
As per the sources, the arrested person brought the contraband items from Myanmar for delivery to a lady trafficker at Kanglatongbi along NH-2 .
A case has been registered at NAB-police station.
