TPR, cases drop; fatality rises

Imphal, February 19 2022:
The state witnessed further dip in the number of daily new cases and test positivity rate but rise in number of daily fatalities on Sunday.
Official bulletin reported only 62 new cases out of 1490 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus, registering positivity rate of 4.16 per cent against 4.97 per cent recorded on Saturday.
Sunday also reported four death cases, which took toll to 2096 .
They were residents of Imphal East, Bishnupur, Kakching and Tamenglong districts.
One of them had received first dose of Covid vaccine while the others were unvaccinated.
Till date, the virus has claimed lives of 183 vaccinated people of which 55 had received second doses.
In the last 24 hours, 62 patients were discharged from home isolation (42), JNIMS (7) and CCCs (13) .
The active case came down to 683 out of which 357 (52.27 per cent) are in home isolation.
Out of the 16 districts, three did not report any fresh Covid cases on Saturday.
So far, the state has recorded 10,596 positive cases and 94 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
According to official reports, all the 62 fresh cases (27 male & 35 female) are from among the general population and their samples were confirmed at RIMS (4), JNIMS (6) and other testing centres (52) .
The positive cases are from Imphal East (9), Imphal West (21), Thoubal (4), Bishnupur (5), Kakching (3), Kamjong (1), Kangpokpi (4), Tamenglong (2), Tengnoupal (2), Ukhrul (2), Senapati (5), Chandel (2) and Churachandpur(2).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,36,384 while number of recovered cases is 1,33,605 (general population - 1,28,638 and CAPF personnel - 4,967) and number of active cases is 683 (general population - 656 and CAPF personnel - 27) .
The recovery rate rose to 97.96 per cent.
A total of 231 D-type and 61 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours and 5622 vaccine doses administered on Saturday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals to 14,96,241.As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48471), Imphal East (30276), Thoubal (10102), Churachandpur (11017), Kangpokpi (3114), Tamenglong (3456), Bishnupur (9773), Senapati (2468), Ukhrul (3234), Kakching (6850), Chandel (2682), Noney (1148), Tengnoupal (1187), Jiribam (1109), Kamjong (1032) and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (699), Imphal East (503), Thoubal (187), Churachandpur (166), Kangpokpi (66), Tamenglong (16), Bishnupur (204), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (49), Kakching (121), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (14), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 43,952 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,527 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,03,634 tests per million population against the national average of 5,40,699 TPM.
Case fatality rate rose to 1.54 per cent while the cumulative positivity stands at 8.73 per cent.
