Sit-in protest staged at Charangpat

Denouncing the spreading of posters to discredit the NPP candidate of Wangkhem Assembly Constituency by some miscreants, supporters of Kharibam Jiban staged a sit-in protest at Charangpat Maning Leikai on Saturday.
Speaking to media persons, Kharibam (O) Pramodini, wife of Kh Jiban claimed that various threats have been made to her husband since he decided to contest the Assembly election.
She alleged that threats and warnings have also been made to the workers of Kh Jiban on a number of occasions.
"Recently a police team even raided the stone crusher plant of the candidate's father claiming that drugs were stored in the plant", alleged Pramodini while adding that two persons working at the plant were detained by the police team and later released after no evidence for their claims were found.

Kh Jiban, NPP candidate of Wangkhem AC, expressed his anguish over the use of such cheap tactics to discredit him to the public by some individuals.
He continued that he would seek the help of the police to find the culprits who were involved in the unfortunate act of spreading false rumours.
It may be mentioned that posters were spread in various areas of Wangkhem AC by unknown miscreants with a number of allegations against Kh Jiban and to boycott his election campaign.
