Chief Secretary Dr Vineet Joshi along with the Supreme Court appointed three-member committee headed by former Jammu and Kashmir High Court Chief Justice Gita Mittal visited Kangpokpi district today.
The three-member committee includes former Bombay High Court Judge Shalini Phansalkar Joshi and former Delhi High Court Judge Asha Menon.
The Chief Secretary and the SC appointed committee members were welcomed by the officials of the district administration led by Deputy Commissioner Mahesh Chaudhari at the DC Office complex.
The Supreme Court appointed the three-member committee to oversee relief, rehabilitation and rebuilding measures in Manipur.

Speaking to the media, Gita Mittal said that every Indian is with the people of Manipur during these difficult periods.
She said that the Government should make sure that all displaced persons get a place to live and have access to basic needs such as food, healthcare, and education facilities.
Saying that they are considering providing job opportunities to the displaced people too, she said that Kangpokpi to Dimapur chopper services have also begun especially for people who need urgent medical attention.
She assured that the Government will assist the people who have lost their houses in rebuilding their houses.
Later, the visiting team members met the District Level Officers in the conference hall and had a thorough discussion on the prevailing situation in the district.
Among other agenda, the meeting also discussed health and medical-related issues.
After the meeting, the team along with the officials of the district administration visited two relief centres � Keithelmanbi High School and DIET Centre, Leikop under Champhai Sub-Division and interacted with the people taking shelter at the centres.
More than 500 inmates are accommodated in these two centres.
The team also inspected the under-construction fabricated houses at Keithelmanbi.
The committee members also distributed relief items to the inmates at the relief centres.
