Relief materials extended

In a bid to extend support and alleviate the suffering of the people displaced by the communal conflict which first erupted on May 3 last, aid continues to pour in from all spheres for the affected people.
Continuing its activities of extending humanitarian aid to the people adversely affected by the ongoing crisis, CCIAN Forum provided essential items to the Meitei/Meetei community of Moreh who have been rendered homeless.
Speaking at the occasion, CCIAN Forum Convenor Angomcha Chingkhei lauded the perseverance and courage of the affected Meiteis/Meeteis of Moreh who have been urging for resettlement at their native places rather than staying at temporary accommodations provided by the Government.

In light of the above, he appealed to the relevant authorities to ramp up resettlement measures for the Meiteis/Meeteis at Moreh and for restoration of peace and normalcy.
Citing the principles and ideals of the visionary leader Lamyanba Hijam Irabot, he appealed to the elected leaders of today to follow the footsteps of Irabot to resolve the conflict and safeguard the unity and integrity of Manipur.
It is worth noting that the displaced people from Moreh also narrated their ordeal to the members of CCIAN Forum where they faced immense difficulties at the initial days of the conflict with no proper facility of food and accommodation.
Meanwhile, the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Manipur State Branch extended essential materials to various relief camps opened in Imphal West district.
The Media Coordinator, IRCS Manipur in a press release informed that the society provided relief and essential items to shelter camps opened at Recent Higher Secondary School, Sagoltongba; Samurou Government High School; Urup OBC Girl Hostel; TAKDO relief camp; Shyamashakhi High School and Apunba Iramsiphai.
The relief materials provided include hygiene kits, woolen blankets, mosquito nets etc.
Indian Red Cross Society, Manipur State Branch Chairman, Narendra Ningomba; Vice-chairman Dr L Manglem Singh; Secretary A Nabachandra and the volunteers of the society were also present at the occasion.
The Peace Unity Integrity Angtha and All Angtha Meira Paibi also extended winter clothes and edible items to the inmates of relief camp opened at Manipur Trade and Expo Centre, Lamboikhong nangkhong today.
