Kakching, October 04 2023:
Joint Non-Govemment Voluntary Organisation (JNGVO), Kakching has strongly opposed any move to shift Passport Seva Kendra, Kakching opened at Sub Post Office, Kakching to Churachandpur.
In a release, JNGVO president Ksh Chhatradhari Singh and general secretary N Bheigyachandra Singh claimed that organisation has inputs about plans to shift the Passport Seva Kendra which was inaugurated on November 19, 2021 to Churachandpur, which raises question whether there is a hidden agenda for ceding to the demand for separate administration by Kukis.
Such step will be akin to endorsement of the demand of 10 Kuki MLAs for separate administration, it asserted.
JNGVO maintained that shifting of Passport Seva Kendra which is used by people from not only Kakching district but also by Thoubal, Tengnoupal, Chandel and other districts will only prove that a hidden agenda is being pursued by central and state governments to please Chin-Kuki people and their supporter militants.
It cautioned of strongly opposing any move to shift the Passport Seva Kendra, Kakching from the district.
JNGVO further alleged that both central and state governments have no political will to end the on-going crisis event after five months.
There are clear signs that the state is under two administrations with law being implemented differently in hills and valley as there is lawlessness in hills while security forces are suppressing the public in valley region, it alleged.
