Imphal, October 04 2023:
Saying that the Union Home Minister, External Affairs Minister and National Investigation Agency (NIA) have already highlighted the involvement of Kuki militants based in Myanmar and Bangladesh in the ongoing strife, the Meitei Leepun has urged the Union and Manipur Governments to drive out the illegal immigrants from the country and save the indigenous people of the State.
Meitei Leepun, in a statement, said that their chief Pramot Singh had on June 6 mentioned that the unrest in Manipur is a consequence of aggression against India by Kuki militants based in Bangladesh and Myanmar.
Saying that statements identical to that of Pramot Singh were given by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, External Affairs Minister and NIA, Meitei Leepun claimed that NIA has revealed the conspiracy hatched by Kuki militant groups based in India, Myanmar and Bangladesh to wage war against India.
The Meitei Leepun also said that they believe in the integrity and professionalism of armed forces.
"It is our hope and aspirations that under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister N Biren Singh the indigenous people of Manipur will prosper and live with dignity and security and be a part of 21st century India," it added.
