Missing man found, another traceless

Satkhotang Kipgen, who went missing since September 30, has been found by a team of Keithelmanbi police station from Longjang village along NH-37 road on Tuesday.
According to a police source, Satkhotang Kipgen, 49 son of Kamlun of Bijang village went out of home on September 30 and his whereabouts remained unknown amid Bijang village authority and Kuki CSOs of Kangpokpi district claiming that Satkhotang was kidnapped by armed persons.
However, Satkhotang was spotted by a team of Keithelmanbi police station in Lonjang village area while conducting search operation in some villages along NH-37 road on Tuesday.
According to Satkhotang Kipgen, he could not remember how he lost way but came to knew that he was on hill slope of Haibung village far from inhabited area after regaining sense.
He also said that he took rest in a makeshift farm house on the hill slope and came across a police team while approaching Lonjang village.
Meanwhile, one Konthoujam Umakanta (35) s/o late Ghalla of Waikhong Pomthakpokpi under Kakching district who went missing since September 17 last remains traceless till this date.
Addressing media persons organised jointly by members of Arambai Tenggol Kakching, Lamjao and Wangoo Lamkhai units at Kakching on Tuesday, Umakanta's wife Konthoujam Jaya said that her husband went out of home around 9pm of September 17 after which a missing report was registered at Waikhong police station on September 19.Since her husband was the sole bread winner, the family is struggling to make ends meet, she said and appealed to all concerned to extend support in finding the whereabouts of her husband.
