Educational campaign on women's health conducted

In view of the difficulties faced by women due to the prevailing situation of Manipur, Scientists & Co, a non profit organisation run by multinational scientists partnered with Indian Youth Congress (IYC) and Children in Education UK to conduct an in-depth educational campaign on women's health today.
A statement issued by Avinash Naorem, working president of Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress Committee (MPYCC) informed that the present conflict in Manipur has left tens of thousands of women in a state of utter despair and vulnerability in more respects than one.
It also shared that a significant population of these women are unable to access timely healthcare or afford clean & safe sanitary products.

The in-depth campaign was headed by Dr Sweta Ragahuan, founder director of Scientists & Co.
and logistics were led by Sarifa Rahman, general secretary IYC (in-charge Manipur) and Popilal Ningthoujam, state president MPYCC.
The campaign was carried out in the regional language at three relief camps namely Phayeng High School Relief Centre, Imphal West; Leimaram SC Girls Hostel, Bishnupur; and Gulap Higher Secondary School, Mekola, Imphal West.
During the campaign, clean, reusable, eco-friendly sanitary pads were distributed to nearly 350 internally displaced women taking shelter at the relief camps.

also conducted a scoping exercise to understand the healthcare needs and challenges of the internally displaced people (IDP) in Manipur and to plan further healthcare interactions to suit their needs.
