Six arrested with drugs

Imphal, September 09 2026:
During the last 48 hours, security forces arrested six persons including a woman and an Assam man, and seized drugs worth lakhs of rupees in separate operations.
On September 8, a joint team of ANTF-Imphal East district police, CRPF and YADAM conducted an anti-narcotics operation at Keikol and arrested three with 1.020 Kg of brown sugar, said the police.
The three arrested have been identified as Robin Thapa (23), Sarju Chetry (33) and Padam Rai (38) .
Sarju Chetry has been identified as a resident of Karbi Anglong, Assam.
Robin Thapa hails from Irang Part-II, Naibet, T Waichong, Kangpokpi.
Padam Rai hails from Molkon Nepali village, Makeng, Pangei Yangdong, Imphal East.
Apart from 1.020 Kg of brown sugar, the security forces also seized one Honda Activa and three mobile phones from their possession.
In another operation on September 8, a team of Lilong police arrested two brothers and seized 24 grams of heroin.
The two have been identified as Md Imtiyaz Khan (22) and Md Akbar (36) of Lilong Uku, Lilong Keirak Mamang.
Today (September 9), a team of Churachandpur police arrested a woman iden- tified as Manglo Ngailian-ching alias Matei (35) with 112 grams of brown sugar.
The woman hails from S Molnom village, Chandel district, She was arrested from Thingkhangphai village along with ten soap cases containing 112 grams of brown sugar, said the police.
